Tomorrow will be the end of week 2...time is already going by so fast! Week 2 started off okay - we were having some trouble with feeding so we had a lactation nurse come out to the house. She was really helpful and got us off to a good start. Aubrey went for her first walk around the neighborhood and got to meet some neighbors; we have had gorgeous weather so hopefully we will keep this up. On Saturday afternoon Aubrey started this thing where she would eat, then wail for an hour or so, then sleep for about 30 minutes; then we would repeat the process. Not only was it exhausting, but it was so upsetting to not be able to console her. Nothing we did would make it better. Finally, on Sunday afternoon I had Justin call the pediatrician who suggested that something in my diet was making Aubrey gassy. She ran down a list of foods that I should avoid - the majority of which I wasn't eating in the first place. She had us give her pedialyte and then resume feeding like normal. I can't describe how frustrating this was - earlier in the week we were having trouble with feeding and had finally gotten that down, now we were having trouble because of something in my diet?? Anyway, we went to our 2 week check-up on Monday and the doctor said Aubrey has acid reflux, so now she is taking Zantac twice a day. So far this seems to be working.Aubrey has started making great eye contact and following things - she especially loves to look at her black and white book. She hates baths and diaper changes, but enjoys the wipes that come out of the wipe warmer (good investment!) She has started to show us that she has a temper like her momma; I'm hoping this dies down a little bit as she gets older! Every day we learn something new about Miss Aubrey...uh-oh, time to go feed her! That's all for now!
